White rhino

White rhinos are the second-largest land mammals, weighing up to 4,500 kilograms.

Despite their name, white rhinos are not white; their name comes from a mistranslation of the Dutch word "wijde," meaning "wide," referring to their wide mouths.

White rhinos can run at speeds of up to 50 km/h despite their massive size.

They have poor eyesight but an excellent sense of smell and hearing.

White rhinos are social animals, often found in groups called crashes.

The two subspecies of white rhinos are the southern white rhino and the critically endangered northern white rhino.
